| It wasn't easy being a Ryder in the Milky Way. Her father had made that happen. Despite a general unrest between the Ryder children and their father, neither of them had been sure if he'd done it intentionally or if he'd just not seen the possible repercussions. Artificial intelligence had been made illegal after the Quarians had created the Geth and the Geth had turned on them, and yet Alec Ryder created not just an AI but an unshackled AI meant to be bonded to humans. For his actions, he lost his N7 commission and most of the respect he'd gained throughout the galaxy. It had turned Scott's position guarding a mass relay into a dead end job, and had made Sara persona non grata among the Alliance, cutting her off from the peacekeeper/researcher position she'd found to be her passion. That, along with the death of her mother, had made the Andromeda Initiative an opportunity that she couldn't pass up, even if it put her on her father's team with an AI implant in her head. The Initiative had scouted, via long range telescope, the Heleus cluster in the Andromeda galaxy. It was an opportunity for exploration, discovery, and a career where her father's actions weren't a wall between her and success. Sara never expected that, hours after being taken out of cryogenic sleep, she would be supplanting her father as humanity's Pathfinder. That her father would sacrifice his life to save her. That her brother would be in danger of losing his life, that all of the Initiative arks were lost, that the Nexus had already gone through more than a Milky Way year of trials and tribulations. And she never expected that so much would find its way to rest on her shoulders. About Sara: • Oldest of the Ryder twins (and don't forget it, Scott) • Soldier with a science streak (Prothean artifacts!) • Loves to dye her hair unnatural colours but went natural for Andromeda (they'll make dyes again) • Once had her tech armour break over her left eye thanks to a biotic strike; has a hexagon grid scar • Got a hex grid necklace tattoo afterward to match; Scott got a similar one in support • Sentinel - biotics/tech; Lance, Throw, Singularity, Tactical Cloak, Overload, Remnant VI (Good Remnant, Zap!) • Sniper - Black Widow preferred, backup N7 Eagle, Scorpion (gotta love a pistol that shoots grenades), and Krogan Hammer • Tends toward logic first, feelings second; made getting along with the Angara difficult • Feels she knows better than Nexus authorities what to do in the field since she's actually been out there • Looks to Drack as more of a father figure than her own father (Honourary Nakmor!) General timeline choices: • Exiled Rensus Nilken for murder (shot his friend in the back; not cool) • Placed a scientific outpost on Eos (the Initiative isn't there to invade) • Let Vehn Terev be executed (he had made his peace) • Destroyed Exaltation facility on Voeld (the opinion of the Moshae seemed more important than Jaal's) • Destroyed the Angaran AI rather than let it kill an innocent (that's not the kind of AI the Initiative needs) • Followed Jaal's lead and did not kill Akksul (sometimes, you have to trust your friends) • Revealed Nexus involvement with Three Sabers (honesty is a necessity out here) • Put the Collective in charge of Kadara Port (Sloane was a tyrant) • Saved Drack's scouts, letting Raeka die (Raeka seemed to have made her peace) • Shot Kalinda; saved Remnant device (she wasn't going to stop putting people in danger) • Arrested Dr. Aden (selling Salarian lives to the Kett can't go unpunished) • Did not make the deal with Primus (we don't make deals with • Let Drack kill Aroane; exiled Spender (the Krogan are valuable and needed allies) • Gave Morda Remnant drive core (New Tuchanka needed the power, and the Initiative needs the Krogan) • Ousted Annea from Elaaden, making water a public resource (people shouldn't be denied water at a whim) • Found all arks; made Vederia the Asari Pathfinder, made Hayjer the Salarian Pathfinder, made Avitus the Turian Pathfinder • Godparent to a few of Kesh's children (Krogan babies, yay!) • Asked Moshae Sjefa to be the ambassador to the Nexus (the Angara were there first) And finally... • Romanced Liam; Jaal a close second, Reyes after that General Prefs: • Canon great, crosscanon great, though I prefer sci-fi canons. • If we can AU something, I'll go with just about anything. • Backtagging = forever. • Fighting, flirting, bring it on. Shipping is M/F preferred, but F/F depends on chemistry. • She has an AI in her head, named SAM - Simulated Adaptive Matrix. He's taken over some vital functions. Please don't disable SAM. |
